What We Collect
When you join the waitlist on our website
- Contact Information: email address.
- Professional Information: current role and (optionally) company.
- Product Analytics: basic usage events to improve the site (see Analytics below).
When you use the iOS app (TestFlight/production)
- Push Notification Token: to deliver job alerts (rotating device token provided by Apple).
- Crash and Diagnostics: crash logs and basic diagnostics provided by Apple and our tooling.
- App Usage: high-level in-app events (e.g., screen views, actions) to improve reliability and UX.
How We Use Your Information
- Provide the service: send relevant job alerts and onboarding communications.
- Support and safety: diagnose issues, prevent abuse, and secure our systems.
- Improve the product: analyze feature usage and performance trends.
- Communications: respond to support requests and provide updates. You can opt out anytime.
Analytics
We use privacy-conscious analytics to understand aggregate usage and improve ApplyFirst. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use third‑party advertising networks.
- Website and App Analytics: We may use PostHog and similar providers to capture page/app views, feature interactions, and performance metrics. We aim to avoid collecting sensitive free‑text and configure tooling to minimize personal data in analytics events.
- IP and Geolocation: We do not derive precise location. Analytics may receive an IP address as part of standard HTTPS logs; we do not use it for precise geolocation.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share limited data with service providers who help us operate ApplyFirst (e.g., cloud hosting, analytics, email delivery). These providers are bound by contracts and use your data only on our instructions.
Retention
- Waitlist data: retained until you request deletion or we determine it is no longer needed.
- Push tokens: retained while your device remains opted‑in; rotated or removed when invalidated.
- Crash and diagnostics: typically retained for up to 12–18 months for trend analysis.
Your Rights and Choices
- Access / Deletion: request a copy or deletion of your data by emailing hi@applyfirst.ai.
- Opt‑out of communications: use unsubscribe links or contact us.
- Push notifications: control in iOS Settings → Notifications.
- Analytics: contact us to limit analytics associated to your account.
Security
We use industry‑standard security measures, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls, and monitoring. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we continuously improve our safeguards.
International Transfers
Depending on your location and our providers, your data may be processed in other countries. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
Children's Privacy
ApplyFirst is not directed to children under 13 (or the age defined by local law). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
App Store Privacy Details (Summary)
- Data linked to you: contact info (email), app usage for product improvement, and diagnostics.
- Not used for tracking: we do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
- No third‑party advertising: we do not share data with ad networks for targeted ads.
